OUR MUSEUM NEEDS YOUR HELP ! "As we enter the 21st century, 12th Armored Division veterans have the opportunity once again to answer the call of duty. America faces important new challenges in an age of uncertainty. At a time when love of country, the institution of the family and basic human values are under attack, lessons from the past offer direction for the American people. Values born of sacrifice in a generation-long depression can re-establish the family and give focus to young people desperate for direction and meaning. Lessons from the 12th Armored Division experience in the World War II years provide a bridge in the generation gap and emphasize the importance of God and family. The World War II generation faced the enemy with the full realization that the survival of the world was at stake. We served and defended our way of life and our stories can positively impact a country now in flux. In our bold plan to preserve the history of the 12th Armored Division through a teaching museum in Abilene, each hellcat's story opens a window of opportunity to transfer the values instilled in the struggles of the 1930's and 1940's to generations not yet born.
